Born in 1986 in Vermont. Currently lives in Brooklyn, New York.

Katrina Vonnegut received her BFA in furniture design from Rhode Island School of Design in 2009. Vonnegut works in varied three-dimensional media. Her work experience has included production and stage design as well as building puppetry for Bjork's Wanderlust music video.
Her sculptural approach to design leads to an innovative and original practice that lies between art and design. A hybrid of meticulous handmade techniques such as knitting is juxtaposed with clean shapes cut with industrial machinery. Her work examines contrasts between production methods and materials and the dialog that emerges between them. Her experimental approach to design references pattern and geometry found in nature, while simultaneously embracing absurdity and surprise.
