NEW YORK — RH Gallery is pleased to present
Tomorrow Land, Micah Ganske’s first solo exhibition with RH Gallery.
Tomorrow Land is a collection of paintings and sculptures from an ongoing series in which Ganske depicts landscapes of toxic and abandoned areas of the United States blanketed with ominous shadows: what the artist refers to as symbols of “aspirational technology.”
Ganske’s process entails the dilution of acrylic paints used to stain untreated Muslin.
The combination leaves no room for error. Ganske meticulously plans his work creating composites imagery from images found on the internet.
His work points to a hyper-real experience of landscapes emerging from countless intricate lines and rich colors.

NEW YORK -
RH Gallery is pleased to present Collapse, curated by gallery artist Micah Ganske. Collapse draws inspiration from Jared Diamond’s book, Collapse: How Societies Choose to Fail or Succeed.
In this text, Diamond hypothesizes the triggers and trajectories leading to the fall of a civilization and concludes that the true cause of social collapse relies on a failure to adapt.
Diamond states, “Societies die from suicide, not by murder.” Although somewhat bleak, this view offers a beacon of hope: every individual has the ability to change.
Ganske’s exhibition seeks to reveal the symptoms of collapse while simultaneously envisioning possible alternatives. Collapse showcases a group of contemporary artists whose work reflect Diamond’s paradigm.

RH Gallery is pleased to present the American debut solo exhibition for South African
artist Paul Edmunds. Edmunds’ latest works are a collection of abstract pencil drawings and a sculpture.
Edmunds uses line or edge to explore visual correspondents for music and its constituent parts resulting in
intricate labyrinthine abstractions that relate to pitch, tone, timbre and stereo. This series has roots tracing
back to Kandinsky whose practice was centered on a process of abstraction, which relied heavily on
concepts borrowed from musical theory.

RH Gallery is pleased to announce Melodymania featuring a selection of international
contemporary artists. The term, Melodymania, denotes the common experience of having a song stuck in
your head. This experience is projected into artworks that emanate music, even in their silence. Throughout
the works in this exhibition, we encounter the omnipresence and power of music. The work produces new
perspectives and meanings that unfold to represent music anew in subtle and surprising ways.

Young Sook Park and Lee Ufan first met in 1979 at Park’s gallery in Insadong, Seoul. United by a shared aesthetic rooted in the belief that there is great complexity in simplicity, their initial collaboration produced a minimalist cobalt blue brushstroke that was applied to a series of dinnerware including plates, bowls, tea pots, tea cups and platters. Their collaboration led to terracotta reliefs and large painted plates among other objects. Alongside individual works by both artists, Pure Clay will show these collaborative works for the first time in New York.

Kathy Butterly, Nicole Cherubini, Julia Chiang, Naoki Koide,
Jeff Koons, Klara Kristalova, Erin McCutcheon, John O’Reilly, Joyce Robins, Arlene Shechet, Shinique Smith, Paul Swenbeck and Ai Wei Wei.
Clay seems to inherently contain a certain presence that is both fragile and powerful. Within this tension, there lays a rich history spanning time and the world. Ceramic traditions lie at the core of multiple cultural histories. Clay’s malleability and sensitivity to touch further defines its identity yet each artist in this exhibition uses clay in a uniquely expressive way.

NEW YORK - For Rauschenberg, printmaking was an art form at the core of his work both conceptually and visually. His oeuvre was constructed with a visual vocabulary culled from his environment that was at once intimate and urban, intellectual and quotidian. His elegant yet complex compositions define an American era and have been influential on a global scale. The selection of prints in this exhibition come from three of his most important series created between 1972 and 1979 titled
Horsefeathers, Romances and Rookery Mounds.

Neo-Pagan Maypole Performance:
Maria Kozak and Damaris Drummond
Saturday, May 1st, 5pm
View Press Release
NEW YORK - On May 1st, artists
Maria Kozak,
Damaris Drummond and a diverse
ensemble of artists and performers will hold a Maypole Performance in Petrosino Square. A pagan ode to fertility and the rites of spring, the Maypole dance dates back centuries. This performance re-envisions an ancient tradition within a contemporary urban context. Evoking the archetypal myth, the performers will dress in sheer, pagan dresses designed by Carolyne Cass. The ritualistic dance becomes a live sculpture as the performers dance with ribbons, wrapping and unraveling the maypole. Accompanied by violinist Emily Adams, Mass Transit a cappella singers and the Gypsie Kittens featuring Syrie Moskowitz and Jacqui Becker, the performance will begin at 5pm.
